Celebrating Women's Month in South Africa

"When you empower a woman, you empower a nation." - African Proverb

August is more than just a month on the calendar; it's a time to honor the incredible strength, resilience, and contributions of the women who have shaped the tapestry of South Africa. As we step into Women's Month, we shine a spotlight on the remarkable stories that have inspired generations and continue to do so.

From the fierce activists who fought against apartheid's injustices to the entrepreneurs, educators, healthcare workers, and artists who are propelling our nation forward, South African women have left an indelible mark on every sphere of society. Their courage has ignited change, and their determination has shattered glass ceilings.

This Women's Month, let's not only reflect on past accomplishments but also uplift the voices and dreams of the women around us. It's a time to celebrate the victories and acknowledge that there is still work to be done in the journey toward true gender equality. Let's use this month as a platform to amplify their stories, support their aspirations, and contribute to a world where every woman's potential knows no bounds.

As we navigate the present and shape the future, let's remember that women's empowerment isn't limited to a single month – it's a year-round commitment. Let's stand together, united in the belief that a world where women thrive is a world where everyone flourishes.

At Natura Africa, we take immense pride in the journey of our products, and it's a journey that begins with empowerment and community collaboration. We source some of our most cherished ingredients from projects that are deeply rooted in local communities, particularly in Namibia.

As our company journey began, a vital aspect was understanding the origins of our oils and connecting with the remarkable women behind the nut collection. Embarking on a family expedition, we ventured to Northern Namibia, driven by the curiosity to witness firsthand the source of our ingredients.

Ovambo women have shown us the art of nut cracking and have shared with us the intricate details that are part of their everyday lives. Amidst these exchanges, we delved into the significance of the marula tree, discovering its cultural importance and the deep-rooted connection it holds within their communities.

This journey, undertaken with our entire family, enriched our understanding of our products and the lives they touch. Witnessing the dedication of these women and hearing their stories, was a heartfelt experience.

At Natura Africa, our commitment goes beyond crafting exceptional products. We're dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of those at the beginning of the production chain. Every drop of Marula, Manketti, Kalahari Melon, and Baobab oil represents a step towards nurturing communities, fostering gender equality, and embracing the beauty of collaboration. With your support, we continue to uplift these communities and amplify the voices of those who inspire us every day.
